Sweat pouring down their face, two guys walked out of the door, onto the street, with a towel draped around their necks. They were chatting away about the cycling class they had just finished. I was on the plaza and walking by, I noticed the logo on the side of the building from where they had come. It peaked my interest because they looked so exhilarated, full of energy and excited about their lives. When I got home, I pulled up ‘Mojo Cycling’ on Google, to find out more about it; the ‘why’ behind their enthusiasm. When I began to read about Mojo, it all made perfect sense.

From New York City, to London, to Chicago, Mojo Cycling has been reviewed as a ‘big city’ Cycling Company, able to hold its own next to Soul Cycle and other top Cycling studios. Amanda Rismiller, owner of Mojo Cycling, put her heart and soul into launching a great place to not just an incredible workout, but also a first class experience. From the bright colored interior, to the friendly faces, to the upscale bathrooms with full towel service, Amanda left no stone unturned when it came to creating a very hip and trendy MOJO experience. Within its first year, Mojo has established itself as a great place for anyone and everyone from every level of fitness to come hang out and cycle to their hearts content. Mojo hosts cyclist from all around the US and from all walks of life.

Amanda would describe herself as a ‘cardio class junkie.’ She deemed herself that nickname because she always felt yoga was boring and while when traveling on business she would always look for something high energy to help her train for marathons. This would lead her to join spin classes, which offered the intensity and the great workout she was wanting and needing. Cycling was something that seemingly could be found in almost every city.

With a background in software sales, Amanda used to spend a lot of time traveling for the Company she was working for. She found that during her travels it was hard to find places to get in a good workout. Being a lover of fitness, she always made it a part of her everyday life. This passion led her business mind down the path of fitness and so began the formulation of a personal business plan.

In June 2015, after hosting cycling classes in a variety of different studios around the city and being inspired by Soul Cycle and their concept, Amanda’s dream for her own studio, ‘Mojo Cycle,’ came to be. It is conveniently located on the plaza in Kansas City, MO and is open to anyone who would like to try it. You don’t have to be a roadie or a pro spinner to come by just to check it out or try a free session.

If you are a first timer to her gym, Amanda offers a free basics class every Saturday. The class focuses on learning how to set up the bike and teaches you the fundamentals of cycling. It gives all new comers a good foundation for future classes and allows them to try and see if they like it.
Amanda promotes a social environment and strives to be a positive influence in the Kansas City fitness community. Come get your mojo back and join the Mojo Cycling experience!
