Some people dream and some have visions, but some go further and create their reality by making their passions come to life and all their dreams come true. This is the case with a local entrepreneur named Stephanie Agne. Originating out of Kansas City, Stephanie left to go to College in Maine and pursue a degree in nutrition and dietetics. This led her into a 10-year career which ended when her truest passion intervened.
While working as a dietitian, she used all her spare time to develop her passion for home and interior design and her understanding of how the industry worked. When her husband’s job moved the family to California, she eventually left the field of Dietetics and took a job in a local design boutique.
Her earliest memory of home design was seeing her mother hand-making pillows out of sheets for their family home. This had planted a fond feeling in her and being creative, it resurfaced as she realized her love for the arts as being expressed through design and home decor. Out of this passion, she brings you all the knowledge and inspiration that she has stored up inside and experienced since childhood and It is with sincere integrity that we introduce her newest creation, Golden & Pine, opened Spring 2016. Located in the newly developed area of Brookside, along 63rd Street, Golden & Pine is a boutique full of one-of-a-kind priceless, handcrafted home décor, and finery. She has become well known for her exclusive pieces and continues to grow in fame as she adds to her collection.
The products at Golden & Pine aren’t just specialty products, they are locally and ethically sourced and manufactured. Stephanie has a great understanding of the products she sets out on display at Golden and Pine. She takes great care to handpick every item, know how it was
produced, where it was produced, and what materials it was made from. She makes sure that everything she sells is not only quality, but also
holds functionality for her customers.
Shopping for these beautiful products is Stephanie’s favorite part of the job and she takes great pride in her finds. Like most of Kansas City,
Stephanie is very focused on looking to the local community of makers and creators to inspire her collection. Her passion shows in her
product choices. She chooses to work with several local artists, furniture designers, and manufacturers, including: Convivial Productions (ceramics), The Object Enthusiast (ceramics), Nolan Co (bed frames), Woodchop KC (cutting boards), Megan Leong Art, Whisker Row (weavings), Andy Newcom Macramé, Shine Candle Co, Ben Neis – (reclaimed wood benches), Rebecca Foote – (handwoven tea towels).
